ABSTRACT:
This 10 page paper looks at existing business analysis models and utilizes their basic concepts to develop a new tool which can be used to assess the use and needs of information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) within the organization to support competitive advantage. The paper starts by looking at the concept of competitive advantage, and then discusses several different business analysis models and approaches, including Porters five forces model and resource-based view. The paper ends by presenting a new analysis model, and demonstrates the potential analysis utilizing Amazon.com. The bibliography cites 15 sources.
